A week after her older sister achieved 4 fine passes in her A-Levels that saw her secure a place at her chosen university, Thursday 24th August was GCSE results day for Natasha, my 16 year old daughter.
Off we duly all went to school…and the fateful piece of paper revealed a mix of Bs and Cs. Not a failure in sight! Natasha is looking to go to SGS College Filton to attend their Rugby academy and study a Sport & Exercise Science BTEC. Her grades mean she is eligible for the level 3 NVQ, which will stand her in better stead when looking at university options etc beyond college, so well done Natasha!
It has to be said, she’s a different individual altogether compared to her far more academic older sister, but she’s achieved well this summer. GCSEs aren’t her only achievements this year however. Building on her success at U15 level, she made the county rugby U18 squad at the first time of asking . . . and for her club was voted “Players Player” (a fine accolade indeed, to be so acknowledged by your teammates & peers). A month’s worth of NCS after school had finished was a worthy cause and great effort, during which she lead from the front. A fine young woman who was always praised by her teachers at school parents evenings for work ethic and character. She makes her mum and dad very proud!
Now, if she could just tidy her room…
